    EVENT DETAILS

This season, the snow will feel a little deeper, the jumps a little higher and the views from the top will be just a bit more inspiring. Tap into your inner snow season stoke this season because "Winter Starts Now."

The 72nd annual ski and snowboard film from Warren Miller Entertainment will chase winter from coast to coast with friends old and new in the places that keep our spirits high no matter what life throws at us. From Alaska's Prince William Sound, where the only first tracks you'll encounter belong to bears, to Maine's community of craftsmen and women devoted to sliding on snow. We're sharing the dreams of Olympic ambitions and the resolve of adaptive athletes.

Follow big mountain skiers Marcus Caston and Connery Lundin on a road trip of a lifetime all the way up to Alaska. Catch up with speed riding legend JT Holmes and meet new friends like Madison Rose and Vasu Sojitra. Get stoked because winter starts now. Get ready Milwaukee and Sitzmark Ski Club, TGR is coming to the Waukesha Elks Lodge with our latest film.

TGR’s 26th annual film release STOKE THE FIRE explores our athletes’ evolution within skiing and the pure joy that manifests from that process. The stoke means different things to different people based on where they are in their evolution. For some it is about committing to a new world, a lifestyle, and the friendships that blossom from that commitment. The choice to enter this world is a spark, and with every new experience the fire grows. With more knowledge comes more exploration, both physically and geographically, that helps to understand what those raw experiences connected with nature do for the soul. With more experience an examination of our shared history becomes important, and ultimately some of us might want to test our limits at the upper echelon of what is possible by drawing upon the sum of our knowledge and experiences. While the answers we find are different for everyone the pursuit of this evolution is something sacred, the pursuit is what stokes the fire.  https://www.tetongravity.com/films/stoke-the-fire

    Taos Ski Valley

Kachina Peak stands high above the Sangre de Cristo mountain range at 12,481 feet. From here, skiers and boarders survey some of the finest terrain in North America - bone dry powder shots, steep chutes, big bumps, cornices, and glades- it is all here. If heart-stopping terrain is not your thing, you will find miles of well-manicured slopes and gradual groomers to carve up all season long. This mecca of snow sports shows every level of skier and boarder a great time.

Skiing and riding are at the heart of the Taos Ski Valley experience. The 2014 construction of the Kachina Peak chairlift was the first of numerous on-hill improvements to enhance skiing and riding opportunities. Additional chairlift upgrades include a new Gondola and the replacement of Lift 1 with Taos’s first high-speed quad.

Recognizing the importance of a mountain experience connected to a vibrant core, the revitalization of Taos includes a new village at the foot of the slopes complementing its one-of-a-kind surroundings. A re-energized pedestrian village and plaza will include a riverwalk experience, new retail shops and will provide a year-round gathering point for visitors, events and programs.
