The results are in, and SKI Magazine has ranked Whitefish Mountain Resort in the nation's top 10 resorts for service, value, and overall satisfaction! Whitefish Mountain Resort offers 3,000 acres of in-bound terrain, 105 marked runs, vast amounts of bowl and tree skiing, 5 terrain parks and a skier/boarder cross. The resort averages over 300 inches of snowfall annually during ski season, and the long range forecast looks optimistic for greater than average snowfall this season with La Niña expected to pay us a visit!
Montana is a winter wonderland providing nearly endless activity opportunities. If you aren't hitting the slopes, you can check out snow covered peaks of Glacier National Park, go snowmobiling, dog sledding, fat tire biking, snowshoeing, ice skating, cross country skiing, sleigh rides or check out all the shopping, dining, entertainment, & nightlife! Whitefish Mountain is only 25 miles from Glacier National Park, a World Heritage Site, Biosphere Reserve and the world’s first International Peace Park. Experience the tranquility of Glacier National Park when it’s covered in snow. During the quiet season, Going-to-the Sun Road is plowed from West Glacier to Lake McDonald Lodge offering visitors a scenic drive and plenty of opportunities to snowshoe and cross country ski while watching for the wildlife. Ranger-led snowshoe hikes are offered on weekends in January, February and March from the Apgar Visitor Center, and outfitters offer snowshoe, cross-country and back country ski tours.
